Make Your Own Fairy Wind Chimes – Easy DIY

We love making things for our fairy gardens. Sometimes the fairy crafts take a while and sometimes, they’re quick and easy. Like this fairy hammock or these delicate fairy wind chimes. And they actually work  too 😀 Isn’t that awesome? Just a gentle touch and a bit of fairy dust is all that’s needed bring forth their delicate sound.

These gorgeous little fairy wind chimes are super easy to make and if you listen carefully you'll hear them too. #DIYFairyGarden #FairyGardenCrafts #MakeYourOwn #FairyWindChimes

What You Need to Make Fairy Wind Chimes:

  • Long tubular beads
  • Seed beads
  • 1 Spacer bead with holes. That’s the one that looks like a little flower in the pic below
  • Jewelry wire
  • Jewelry thingy that looks like a wavy shepherd’s crook. I have no idea what’s its actually called 😀
  • Teeny bell (the secret ingredient )

How to Make Fairy Wind Chimes

Start by cutting your jewelry wire into 8 pieces (my spacer bead had 16 little holes round the bottom sides). Cut eight tube beads into various lengths, ranging from long to short. Thread the jewelry wire up through one of the holes and down into the next hole. Twist to tighten.

Cut the wires and the tube beads and thread through the spacer

Add the longest tube bead and a seed bead and then thread the wire back up into the tube. Repeat using the next longest tube bead. Once all the tubes have been added, cut a piece of wire about 15 cm long, bend it in half and add the teeny bell. Thread a seed bead to hold the bell in place and then push the bent wire up through the middle hole in the spacer. Add a few more seed beads and your wind chime is almost done.

Add all the tubes and then the secret ingredient

Give her a gentle nudge and hear the tinkle 😀  Attach the wind chimes to the wavy, shepherd’s crook thingy and she’s ready for your fairy garden.

Your Shepard's Hook is actually a bookmark blank. You would use them to add decorations to make a bookmark.

I just love this! I'm gathering all my supplies to make this and for some reason I can not find the long tube beads! I have been to our local hobby lobby and Michaels stores and even Walmart and target. I can't believe these are hard to find where I live. Do you remember where you got the long tube beads. I can find the shorter ones but not the longer ones, thanks so much!

Hi Becky, I wish I could help. I got mine at a little bead shop in Centurion South Africa, which is probably a bit far for you to travel. Depending on how short your shorter ones are you might be able to stack them on top of each other to make a longer one? I hope you come right. Sending lots of fairy hugs from South Africa.
