Hi Debbie, so happy yo hear the post inspired you to get creative. Sadly the scorch pen maker needs a heat source that’s at least 400 degrees Celsius (700 F) and a hair dryer doesn’t get hot enough. I did read somewhere that you can use a heat press and parchment paper, but I’ve never tried that.

I wasn’t crazy about most of the country-look stencils I’d seen, so your art project was very exciting to see. I have a heat gun that I’ll be using at home. I also have a group of women I get together with to do craft projects. Question: Do you think they could use a hair dryer if they do not have a heat gun?

I’m not sure Sue. I’m guessing a long time since the lamb didn’t even make a dent in the fluid. There’s no expiry date on the pen either so I have no idea if the fluid loses its “burn-ability” after a while. I’ll share an update if that happens.
