I hear you, Melanie. Glue is a pain in the butt to get off and my OCD kicks in when there’s even a tiny drop of glue left behind after grouting and cleaning. What does help a lot with small pieces is a good pair of tweezers and applying the glue to the surface you’ll be sticking the mosaic onto instead of the tile itself. You can use a toothpick to put tiny drops of glue down or instant glue with an applicator tip. Thanks so reminding me about coloring white grout with acrylic paint. I’d completely forgotten about that.

That so true Gloria. It happens to me often and there are so many lovely things out there. Thrift stores for me are the worst. I want to rescue and repurpose everything :D

You’re the best, Janet, thank you for your honesty ❤ and I think you’re right about the spacing. I would have loved to get them consistent. Lil Ms. Perfect inside my head kept on nagging about it too :D but as my hubby says, the beauty of mosaics lies in how all the broken bits go together to make a new whole.
