Anchors Aweigh House Number

This gorgeous anchor by the Graphics Fairy was the inspiration for our new house number. It’s just perfect, our little round house by the sea is in a secure village called “Anchors Aweigh” 😎

How To Make A “Anchors Aweigh” House Number

We added the number 50 to the image using Power Point and then we took some pallet off cuts, wood glue, saddles, rope and chalk and created a one of a kind sign. We cut the pallets into 4 x 35 cm pieces and 2 x 40 cm pieces, sanded them down and then we gave them 2 coats of Rust-Oleum’s American Walnut Stain. It’s one of my favorite stains. The color is so rich and it goes a long way too. We still have a whole bunch left over from when we gave our dresser a awesome luggage themed makeover. Once the stain dries we placed the 35 cm pieces side by side and using wood glue and a nail gun, we attached the 40 cm pieces to the 35 cm pieces.

Pallet backdrop for the sign

The pallets are a perfect backdrop for a rustic number display.

We attached a piece of rope to the back of the pallet sign using some saddles and screws.

Saddles

Attached the rope using saddles and a nail

All that still needs to be done is to transfer the image on the front of the pallet sign using an overhead projector and chalk.

Anchors Aweigh House number

I really love how it turned out. The perfect sign for a perfect little holiday home in Anchors Aweigh. Isn’t it just so appropriate?

Anchors Aweigh, what a perfect name for a village or town!!!!! My husband is retired from the U S Navy, he's a 20 year veteran. ⚓️⚓️⚓️ To live close to the ocean, in a place called Anchors Aweigh with an anchor house number, would be heaven on earth for us... You are very blessed, no wonder it's so easy for you to be creative ;) Rena :) Psalm 46:10
