Hello there. Looking for a fun way to add a little something special to your table decor? Then these pebble napkin rings might be just the thing and you can whip up them up in no time at all!

We made them for this month’s Int’l Bloggers Club challenge, which was all about rocks and pebbles. They literally took me all of 10 minutes to make and they are so easy to do. Plus they add that fun element too. But before I show you how to make your own pebble napkin rings, let me quickly tell you a little more about the IBC. Every month a small group of international bloggers from all around the world get together to share a themed project. Last month we had to make something using wire, which I loved and the month before we all shared a garden related project. You can see all our past challenges here.  Okay let’s get back to those pebble napkin rings. All you need is a few pebbles, a short piece of PVC pipe, glue and blackboard paint.

How to Make Pebble Napkin Rings

Make 4cm (1 1/2″) wide rings by cutting the PVC pipe with a saw. To ensure that they all the same width, mark the PVC pipe with a pencil before cutting. Sand the rings using 100 grit sandpaper.

Wipe off any dust and spray both the rings and the pebbles with blackboard paint.

Once they’re nice a dry, glue the pebbles to the PVC rings. I used instant glue but any general purpose adhesive should work.

When the glue has set, condition the pebbles by covering them completely with chalk. Rub it in with a dry cloth and then wipe off. Blackboard paint is porous, so if you don’t prime it, your first drawing might never wipe off 😉

Now you have a gorgeous handmade pebble napkin rings that only take a few minutes to make. They’re great for adding that special something that will make your guests feel welcome. You can draw on them, or add a short message or write your guests name on them and use them as place cards.

This is so cute and well done. I often come across painted rocks on Pinterest but they don't really have a purpose. This is great, I can see myself actually doing these rocks, so perfect for outdoor picnics. Pinning.

These are so fun and so unexpected Michelle. A table setting with a sense of humor is how I see it. And so easy to make. What would you put on mine if I came over for dinner?
    • Posted: July 2, 2018 12:22

Aren't they just and I think it was your idea to use pebbles for this month's challenge 😊 I would need one really big pebble to write something if you came around for brunch Mary. There are just so many words that I can think of, so perhaps I would just draw a big hearts and speak the words instead, that's after I've given you a million hugs first 😍
